                 for Yourself

Our vision is to help people restore balance and increase wellness and happiness.

                Registered Massage Therapists

                Natalie

Registered Massage Therapist | B.Sc | Focusing on Swedish Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone and Acupuncture | I’d move the Earth for you

As the founder of Renaissance Massage Therapy Clinic & Spa, Natalie’s mission is focused on creating happy and healthy clients who can receive hands-on relief and amazing aesthetics while feeling right at home.

Because she believes in putting the customer first, Natalie has built her business by providing excellent massage therapy - both by her own hands and through the hands of her highly-qualified and compassionate associates.

A graduate of D’Arcy Lane Institute (1999), Natalie also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western University (2003). These complementary credentials allow her to understand the body’s processes and complexities all the way down to a cellular level.

Through her years of practice, Natalie has also focused on growing her knowledge of the issues of the body and the therapies to address them. Specifically, she’s focused on acupuncture, hot stone, kinesio taping and deep tissue massage.

While she sees a wide variety of clients, she has welcomed the challenge of providing relief to those suffering from adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder syndrome), carpal tunnel and various issues of mobility in the back and neck.

When clients see Natalie, they can expect a massage experience that goes ‘deep’ but always stays within their level of comfort.

                Corinna

Registered Massage Therapist | Focusing on TMJ | I live to make people happier and healthier, as much as I can, every day

Corinna has been an integral part of the Renaissance Massage Therapy Clinic & Spa family since she graduated from D’Arcy Lane Institute in 2008.

A straight shooter with a sense of humour, the evolution of Corinna’s practice is driven by her clients' conditions and the therapies that can help treat them.

One condition that she is particularly passionate about is temporomandibular joint dysfunction or TMD. As someone who has suffered from TMD herself, Corinna has a personal understanding of the challenges of living with this condition, and she’s developed a professional focus on how massage therapy is employed to help clients find relief.

For those who have never experienced a massage targeted at TMD, some may be surprised to learn that some of the jaw muscles are accessed from within your mouth. Similar to a dental visit (but likely much more pleasant!), the Massage Therapist wears medical gloves and adheres to strict, sanitary practices.

Because of her focus on TMD, as well as her personal understanding of the pressures an office career can place on the body, Corinna often sees clients who have complaints of issues related to the head, neck and shoulders - although she welcomes a wide variety of clients, and has even treated individuals who wish to use massage as a way to overcome a fear of touch.

For Corinna, massage therapy is not just a physical practice but an emotional process as well. When it comes to a client’s preference to have a friendly conversation or peaceful silence throughout the appointment, Corinna is flexible, non-judgemental and tuned into clients’ emotional cues.

                Ariana

Registered Massage Therapist | Focusing on Hot Stone and Swedish Massage| I believe in creating a safe space where you can achieve greater health and happiness

Hailing from the Ottawa Valley, Ariana is a graduate of the Massage Therapy Program at Algonquin College.

Gregarious and warm-hearted, Ariana successfully ran her own massage therapy practice for several years before embarking on her next big adventure: moving to London and joining the Renaissance Massage Therapy Clinic & Spa team in 2015.

As a first-time client, you can expect to spend the first five to ten minutes of your appointment with Ariana in a one-on-one assessment. During this time, she will ask you questions about how your body is feeling as well as assess your movement. This first step is crucial to ensuring that the massage is effectively targeting problem zones as well as expediting the healing process.

As a current volunteer in the community, as well as during her time as a student, Ariana has gathered experience working with a diverse range of people (from children to seniors) who suffer from a variety of ailments. These experiences have developed her appreciation for the role that a massage therapist can play to help others to not only feel physically better but also emotionally - as they are heard and understood.

                Cate

Registered Massage Therapist| Focusing in cupping, fascial work and reiki | I like to fix stuff

I've been a Massage Therapist since 2014, although I've been training in and practising holistic bodywork since 1995.

My interest in the healing arts and alternative therapies began in 1990s when I was training in martial arts and practising Raja Yoga.

I've been receiving bodywork treatments since 1988, starting with Reflexology, Naturopathy, Acupuncture and Shiatsu. I've also received treatments in modalities such as Structural Integration (the Rolfing 10 Series), Swedish massage, Craniosacral, Thai Yoga massage, Reiki, Trager, Aromatherapy and Hot Stone massage, Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), Ayurvedic marma point massage and dry cupping.

I maintained a casual part time practice for many years until 2014 when I entered the Massage Therapy program. After that hiatus, I hung out my shingle as a part-time RMT in February 2018 and then moved to a full-time practice in May 2018. My journey continues as I explore the many elements of bodywork that help facilitate healing, wellness and personal growth.

I'm invested in and passionate about helping my clients restore function and range of motion by releasing the soft tissue restrictions and other conditions that contribute to chronic pain and tension.

My bodywork style draws from different modalities to provide options for clients to choose an integrative treatment designed to fit their distinctive needs for  individual sessions and their overall long-term treatment plan goals.

My standard therapeutic treatment combines various techniques including Swedish, Thai, and Deep Tissue massage, Myofascial therapy, Dry Cupping, Reiki, Marma Point massage, Compression therapy and Breathwork.

I like to fix stuff. I'm always curious about seeking new techniques so I can provide a versatile  range of skills to increase the effectiveness and overall experience of a massage bodywork treatment.  I've had success helping clients resolve chronic pain issues such as headache and migraine conditions, low back pain, and plantar fasciitis, as well as improving overall shoulder and hip functionality.

I love what I do;  I intend to keep growing and learning in order to provide the highest quality bodywork for my clients.

                Susan

Registered Massage Therapist | Focusing on Myofascial Massage and TMJ | I iron out the glue that holds our bodies together

Susan Ruhe is currently taking a year leave of absence. She will return in January 2019.

As a lifelong dancer, Sue understands what it feels like to be in tune with your body and, consequently, what it feels like to be out of tune too.

In 2008, as a new graduate from D’Arcy Lane Institute and a freshly Registered Massage Therapist, Sue interviewed for a job with a Massage Therapist who performed Myofascial Massage. As part of the interview process, she demonstrated the Myofascial Massage technique on Sue, who felt such a substantial sense of relief from body tightness and pain, that she decided to learn and implement the practice herself.

Today, Myofascial Massage is Sue’s main focus.

As a fundamental part of the body, myofascial tissue is a thin but strong connective tissue that helps support and protect muscles and bones. When this tissue is exposed to trauma or repetitive strain - for example, from poor posture or extended computer usage - it can cause aches and pains that can manifest in different parts of the body.

Compared to traditional Swedish Massage, Myofascial Massage is slower and performed without lotions or oils.

Using these techniques, Sue aims to help correct posture, identify underlying issues and target key areas to speed healing and foster relief.

Clients come to Sue in varying degrees of health - she sees everyone from high-performance athletes to those suffering from chronic pain.

In addition, Sue is also passionate about addressing issues of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and teaching clients how to use nutritional cleansing in order to increase health, wellbeing and the pliability of cells.
